Engineering & Surveying

My name is Carmen Cherry.  I am a structural engineer for Gartley & Dorsky Engineering & Surveying.  In addition to full structural engineering services, ranging from inspections of existing structures to complete design and construction document development for new structures, I also act as the structural project manager for larger multi-disciplinary projects at Gartley & Dorsky.  I am available to assist in project initiation and coordination for all Gartley & Dorsky services, which include civil and structural engineering, surveying, permitting, wetland/vernal pool delineation, soils and septic services, and CAD services.

Gartley & Dorsky is a full service engineering and surveying firm.  We provide the full suite of engineering and surveying services, including in-house support services such as soil mapping, septic design, CAD services and permitting.  Our extensive experience and positive professional relationships allow us to provide the highest level of professional service.  The multi-disciplinary nature of our staff provides efficiency and ensures proper project coordination and communication from initial planning to final construction inspections.  We have a history of repeat clientele which is tribute to the excellent services we provide and continue to provide to clients in midcoast Maine and throughout the state.

Engineering is an act of problem-solving, developing appropriate solutions for a particular goal or need.  I enjoy working closely with clients, whether they are homeowners, realtors, architects, developers, municipal officers, town or city planners or municipal officials, to determine the objectives of a project and provide solutions to meet their goals and expectations.

Gartley & Dorsky was previously a branch office of Coffin Engineering (Augusta, ME), which opened in Camden, ME in 1994.  Gartley & Dorsky incorporated as a separate entity, and assumed the name Gartley & Dorsky, in 2003.  I have worked at Gartley & Dorsky since June 2007.

We are licensed to provide services throughout the state of Maine.  Although the majority of our work is in midcoast Maine, from Wiscasset to Ellsworth, inland to Waterville, we frequently work on projects further afield.
