Certified Fitness Specialist

I’m Thia Belajonas, Certified Fitness Specialist, and here are just a few reasons why every woman should lift weights for LIFE!:

  • Prevent and/or reverse osteoporosis by increasing bone mineral density
  • Reduce anxiety and depression by releasing the “feel good” brain chemicals and hormones
  • Increase lean body mass
  • Raise your metabolic rate as fat decreases and muscle increases
  • Strengthen connective tissues (ligaments and tendons) to increase joint stability, balance and coordination
  • Reduce the risk of sudden injury and increase your ability to perform daily activities (ie: throwing your back out lifting heavy bags of groceries)
  • Improve your self-esteem and confidence with the new strong and powerful YOU!

Thia brings more than a decade of physical training experience to her role
as a Certified Fitness Trainer. She is certified by the International Sports
Sciences Association, the world’s leading fitness authority. She also holds
numerous certifications from the YMCA of the USA, including Foundations of
YMCA Strength and Conditioning and YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles. Thia
also received a DSW Fitness certification for the “Essence of Stability Ball
Strengthening”.

Thia’s holistic approach to fitness centers on four points:
strength, flexibility, cardio and nutrition. She works with women of all
ages, with a focus on women in the perimenopausal/menopausal stage of life.
Thia is passionate about helping women prevent or reverse osteoporosis
through strength training. For those women who’s goal is to loose body fat while
gaining lean muscle mass, Thia can also help advise and enable her clients to
develop a sensible food plan that is nutritionally sound and appropriate for
each individual’s needs. In addition, her clients experience reduced
anxiety, and depression, increased self-esteem, higher metabolic rates, and
stronger immune systems. These inspiring results lead to long-term,
positive lifestyle changes. Thia has traveled extensively in Europe and the
Caribbean as a chef on board private yachts. She enjoys swimming, dancing
and gardening. But her four children and five grandchildren (almost six!…. in
June..) are the most joyous part of her daily life.
