One Response to “Picture Framing”

  1. Way back in the 1980’s my father was a teacher at a rough and tumble school in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Those were the days when graffiti was becoming an art form. Some kids did graffiti on walls but some did it on the backs of denim jackets. My father saw one such kid “tagging” his art, on a wall I think, and he asked if he could comission him to do some of his art on the backs of two denim jackets for his teenaged children for Christmas. My brother and I were presented with two of the most cherished peices of clothing in our wardrobes. Fast forward 20 something years. I somehow ended up with both of these gems and my brother had long forgotten his. I made a visit to Christine’s Gallery hoping she would have a clever idea on how to shadow box my brothers jacket. What she came up with was far beyond my imagination. She created the most wonderful display of my brothers jacket behind glass and surrounded by a honey colored wood frame. The jacket now lives on the wall of my brothers bedroom where he can again cherish it. Thank you Christine, for preserving a wonderful memory in such a beautiful way.
