Birthing Mothers
My name is Leah Kohlstrom. Empowering women to make informed choices, especially as it pertains to issues of fertility, pregnancy, and childbirth is my passion. I teach both private and group childbirth classes, am a birth doula (also known as a labor assistant), and also a post-partum doula, mothering the mother during those first few post-partum weeks.
I believe that birth is a process, not simply an event, beginning when we are first aware of the new life growing inside us and continuing as we watch our bodies change and swell, as we begin to feel the waving arms and kicking legs of the child we are carrying. The journey does not end until long after our child has entered this world.
For each one of my clients, my goal is not just a healthy baby but a mother who knows her inner strength, has confidence in her ability and power, and has faith in her body to do what it was designed to do.
